Suitable for experienced divers only
We recommend only experienced divers go to this site as it is very deep and exposed to the open sea.
This Thailand dive site easily reachable form Koh Lanta features a large ridge with the shallowest part starting at 9 meters below the surface in the west. It is going progressively deeper towards the east of the reef. At 35 meters the ridge forms into smaller pinnacles and rocky outcrops that continue sloping down to below. Hin Muang diving offers very impressive vertical walls that drop to 70 meters. Purple soft corals cover the scuba diving place, making you feel like you are in an underwater garden. This is where the name Hin Muang (purple rock) derives from. Close encounters with Manta Rays are common, often in groups. Hin Muang and Hin Daeng are not suitable for Open Water Divers with less than 50 logged dives but do not worry! If you’re an Open Water diver, you are allowed to see this spot by applying for the Deep Dive Adventure dive that costs only 1000 thb extra (valid as credit for the aow course). These colorful dive sites are also the perfect places to complete your Advanced Diver Course, Deep Dive Course, or Underwater Photography Course!

This site is a great place to see Manta rays and pelagics. Whale Shark, as in all Koh Lanta dive spots, may be encountered year around.
