Suitable for divers and snorkelers
Koh Bida is accessible for all. Easier to spot Sharks when snorkeling than Diving.
Koh Bida Nok Diving place together with Koh Bida Nai offers a chance to see an amazing variety of marine life in one place in Thailand. Black Tip Reef Sharks, Leopard Sharks and Hawksbill Turtles are just some of the hundreds of species that can be seen here. Many time also Whale Shark has been spotted as you can see in our YouTube Channel.
The small bay to the south of the this diving site is perfect for novice divers, students doing courses and, of course, snorkelers.
The finger that continues south from the bay eventually dropping to 30 meters is breath taking. Koh Bida Nok’s reef is in pristine condition with many varieties of corals and fauna. This is the perfect dive site to do the PADI Shark Conversation speciality.
With our fiberglass speedboat we reach Koh Bida Nok in less than one hour! The dive usually starts on the north wall and from there we drift to the shelter of the bay in the south. The east side is often done in the morning and west side in the afternoon. All around, this diving site is one of the most amazing diving locations around Koh Lanta. Koh Bida Nok and Koh Bida Nai are the only two dive sites that are open all year round.
Best place to see up to 10+ Black Tip Sharks at the same time, either diving, freediving or snorkeling as well. We would say that swimming with no equipment makes it even easier to see these beautiful creatures since they like to patrol their area staying very shallow.

Mild. Easy to find a protected area anytime.
Although visibility varies and can sometimes drop below this average, the normal visibility around this site is 8 – 20m
See the maps for more specific descriptions of the sites, however the max depth is 30m
These sites are excellent for Macro Photographers but Blacktip Reef Sharks are the main attractions, so a wideangle lens is really recommended.
As you can see in the previous video with many Black Tip Reef Shark shot in Bida Nok, it’s absolutely amazing encountering these creatures. But do not forget that it was at Koh Bida Nok that we had one of our best Whale Shark Diving time during one of our trip from Koh Lanta, as you can see by clicking here.
Moreover, sign up to our PADI Aware Shark Conservation Specialty Course to know better about all the sharks in our area: Whale Shark, Black Tip Reef Shark, Leopard (or Zebra) Shark at Hin Bida and the shy Guitar Shark around Koh Haa.
