Suitable for divers and snorkelers
Koh Bida is accesible for all.
Koh Bida Nai diving site refers to the smaller of the two Bida islands (together with Koh Bida Nok) situated very close to Phi Phi. In our opinion, they are actually the only places that deserve to go diving close to the famous Thailand party island. You can easily dive or swim with snorkel around the island in one hour providing that the current isn’t strong.
In the little kind of bay sometimes Black Tip Shark are patrolling the area and are easy to be spotted together with Pharaoh Cuttlefish and Reef Octopus.
Towards the southeast lies a large area of stag horn corals that joins up with another rock formation which name is “fantasy reef”. If you book with us, ask to be brought here! You can see a marvellous reef with Barracuda, Reef Blacktip Shark and much more!
is a beautiful coral garden sloping to 18m where we can find pinnacles creating a playground of swim throughs. Here next you see in the photo a Tomato Anemonefish (also called Black Saddle Anemonefish) present in Koh Bida Nai and Koh Bida Nok diving sites.
are vertical walls to about 25m. The wall sections are covered with Gorgonian fans, sea whips and soft corals. This is a good place to find ornate ghost pipefish, sea horses and nudibranchs. Shoals of pelagics as Golden Travalley can be seen hunting out in the blue and Reef Blacktip Sharks are therefore regular visitors patrolling in the shallows.
Whale Shark cruising around might be spotted during this dive trip from Koh Lanta, since they really like to swim back and forward from Bida Nok and Bida Nai, thus making these spot one of our favorites ones.
Koh Bida Nai is less than 1 hour away with our fiberglass speedboat. Depending on the weather and sea conditions, we usually do this dive site along with Koh Bida Nok or Hin Bida. Depending on divers, an optional 3rd dive can be done for only 900thb! We like to visit the KK Wreck that is on the way back to Koh Lanta as our third location.
Koh Bida is accesible for all.
Mild to strong. We use our experience in our dive planning.
Although visibility varies and can sometimes drop below this average, the normal visibility around this site is 8 – 20m.
See the maps for more specific descriptions of the sites, however the max depth is 30m.
These sites are excellent for Macro Photographers. A great place to see caves, turtles, frogfish, corals, trigger fish, sharks, nudibranch, and shoals of Barracuda and much more.
